Are you interested in taking a Caribbean cruise but want to know more? Keep reading to discover all the information you need. You'll learn about the best parts of a Caribbean cruise and the ports you'll visit.

The highlights of a Caribbean Cruise

Natural Scenery

There is a reason the Caribbean is one of the most popular cruise destinations in the world; the natural scenery. Whether you're scuba diving amidst vibrant coral reefs and turquoise waters or experiencing some of the Caribbean Islands’ many national parks, you're sure to be blown away. Even a lazy beach day will be spent in some of the best scenery in the world.

Unforgettable Cuisine

The amazing cuisine is another highlight of the Caribbean. As you travel from island to island, you'll be able to experience a tapestry of flavour. From seafood delicacies to richly spiced dishes and fresh fruits, there is plenty to enjoy. From jerk chicken in Jamaica to tacos in Mexico, your stomach will thank you for a Caribbean cruise.

Vibrant Culture

The colourful Caribbean culture is as loud as it is proud. Each port will have its own identity, and from lively music to historical landmarks, there will be plenty to explore. Gain a glimpse into the cultural heritage of the Caribbean as you cruise, and embrace the warmth and hospitality that defines the stunning region.

Where can you visit on a Caribbean Cruise?

Our Caribbean cruises from the UK allow you to enjoy a wealth of amazing tropical destinations, including the Azores, Barbados, Bermuda, the British Virgin Islands, the Cayman Islands, Cuba, the Dominican Republic, St Lucia, St Kitts, St Maarten, Tobago and more. Learn more about what to expect from three of the highlights below.

Barbados

Is there a place that encompasses everything the Caribbean has to offer better than Barbados? We’re not sure. As well as perfect beaches, amazing food and a warm welcome, Barbados offers history by the bucketload.

Bridgetown, the island’s capital, is the perfect place to look for some Caribbean history. Here, you’ll find amazing and informative museums and ex-military complexes now open to the public. From the Garrison to the Museum of Parliament and National Heroes Gallery, those looking for the story of Barbados can learn it here.

Cuba

Cuba is one of the world's most unique countries. As soon as you step foot off the ship, you'll be taken back in time. Around you, you'll see traditional baroque architecture with a tropical twist. And the roads light up with brightly coloured, classic cars.

Cuba is known best for two things: its rum and its cigars. Those with an interest in either should visit a cigar store or distillery. There, they can purchase authentic souvenirs to enjoy once they return to the UK.

Dominican Republic

The white sandy beaches and swaying palms of the Dominican Republic are sure to entrance every visitor to its shores. Here, you'll be able to enjoy the picture-perfect Caribbean shore day.

If you are looking for something more than a day on a white sand beach, we suggest going inland. A quarter of the Dominican Republic is made up of protected national parks, home to animals, including the iconic iguana. Or, nature lovers can enjoy marine life in the surrounding waters, including whales, dolphins and manatees.

Cruise to the Caribbean from the UK

If you aren’t a fan of flying, you’ll be pleased to know that all of our Caribbean cruises depart from the UK. This means you don’t need to worry about airport queues, luggage restrictions or long journeys before your holiday even begins.

Our no-fly cruises depart from eight regional ports in the UK, allowing you to experience exciting cruise destinations from much closer to home. Whether you are looking for cruises from Liverpool or cruises from Belfast, Ambassador can help.
